What is Breakfast With Champions?
The Breakfast With Champions (BWC) program is a high-level, 12-week basketball-training program starting this season on November 24th, 2013 and concluding on February 23rd, 2014. The BWC is geared more toward players of advanced ability for their age group and/or players who are committed to improving their basketball skill-set.
The BWC program will consist of small group workouts with two different focuses:
a basketball skills and strength/explosion training curriculum! Training groups will consist of 12 -16 kids, with a coach-player ratio of about 1:5. Sessions are two hours in duration, with both focuses of our program
(on-court and off-court training) lasting an hour each. Our training groups will be determined based upon age/skill level.
BWC is a highly intensive basketball program that is designed for the player with strong aspirations for the game. The greatest basketball
player of all time, Michael Jordan, created the "Breakfast Club" with
his fellow Chicago Bulls teammates after the 1989-90 season in which
his Bulls team was knocked out of the playoffs by the Detroit Pistons. Frustrated by not meeting the goals that he had set individually and as
a team, Michael Jordan began a workout curriculum during the off-
season to strengthen his weaknesses and add new elements to his
game. The following year, Michael Jordan led the Bulls to the first of his six NBA Championships! Michael Jordan’s “Breakfast Club” inspired the Breakfast With Champions program. Our mission is to make potential, possible!
Our on-court BWC curriculum will include:
training package to date. The ABC’s of strength and conditioning –
Agility, Balance, and Core – will be strongly emphasized. Resistance training, including utilization of TRX exercises, will also be incorporated
to increase muscle stability.
Program Options
BWC is a progression-based program in which workouts will build from
the previous week. As such, we will offer four options for participating
in the BWC program:
