Coach Antwan Capla
Coach / Associate Director
Coach Capla grew up
in San Francisco and attended Buena Vista Elementary School. He then went on to James Lick Middle School
and Lowell High School. Antwan played 3
years of Varsity Basketball and Varsity Baseball for the Cardinals. He won 2 city titles for baseball and was
championship runner up 2 years in row for basketball.
After graduating in 2001, Antwan went on to San Jose State University to play baseball. Two years later he transferred to Oklahoma City University. He won a baseball national championship and played 1 season of professional baseball. After pursuing his professional sports dream for a season he realized that his passion was to return to San Francisco and start a career as a mentor to young aspiring athletes and students. His first step was to join with Coach Guilbeaux and develop youth basketball programs for kids all around the Bay Area. Antwan was instrumental in helping coach Guilbeaux produce an outstanding SF Champions club basketball program for boys and girls youth.
Coach Capla is a former Junior Varsity Coach for Sacred Heart Cathedral High School and 2-year head coach for 16U Hoosiers High School club basketball program. He is a former Phys-Ed teacher of 4 years for CYO. He currently runs a youth sports training and skill development business that produces programming year round for aspiring young athletes. He coaches for cathedral Boys 8th grade basketball team and is a head coach, high official and marketing/recruitment director for SF Champions.
