Coach Dez Douglas
Coach Douglas has played basketball and football at Woodside
High School and Shasta Junior College. He
continued his student athletic career at Western Missouri State University,
where he was a two-time All-America running back who set school records. He is proud to share his love of coaching with
young athletes.
Coach Douglas has been coaching youth athletics for close to 20 years, including working as a coach and gym director for Mike Legarza’s Basketball Program. For the past three years, he has coached the Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team for Urban School in San Francisco.
A core value of Coach Douglas’ coaching style focuses on playing team ball and emphasizing that his players work together as one unit. His work with the team also focuses on the fundamentals of basketball - including the value and importance of playing tough-nosed defense. Above all, he works hard to ensure a sense of sportsmanship and camaraderie on his teams.
