Coach Jason Gant
Coach Gant is a native of the Bayview/Hunter’s Point section
of San Francisco. He attended Rooftop
Elementary K-8 in Twin Peaks and helped to select the Rooftop Ravens mascot and
school colors (black and teal) for the Nancy Mayeda campus.
Coach Gant then moved on to Lick-Wilmerding High School where he starred in soccer, basketball and volleyball. On the basketball team, he was a 3 year starter on the varsity team earning all-league honors for all around and defensive play (known as “Mr. Defense” and “Mr. Hustle”). At LWHS, Jason was also awarded “Athlete of the Year” his senior year.
At the University of California in Berkeley, Coach Gant "walked on" to the CAL Men's Volleyball team his sophomore year and the basketball team his junior year, graduating with a degree in Public Health.
Coach Gant has coached in the SF Champions program for the past two years and is now an assistant coach at Merritt College in Oakland.
